Sewing, Sewing, Sewing

I've been doing a lot of sewing the past few days. I'm working on some of the many UFO's. Today I spent most of my time working on a small piece made from scraps (of course) It is hand pieced and it will be hand quilted. Last night I worked on Hexagons that I have been making from a Moda charm pack. It's Sentimental Studios Kashmir IV. Lots of Paisley(my favorite) in soft pastel colors.
Here are a few of the many, many UFO's I will be working on in the future. How many UFO's do you have?
Got my book, I love it! It's even better than the first one.

STRINGS

I spent my morning yesterday with my 1st Gwen Marston book. After looking through it for a while I decided to start organizing my strings in anticipation of my new book.
I didn't get all of the bins sorted. I have three more to go! They are so full, that could take a week or more. Some progress is better than none.

I WON

Today I'm very excited! I won the giveaway at Bumble Beans. Thank you so much V.
This is what I won. I'm so lucky, my DH was going to surprise me with this for my birthday, which is next Friday. Guess I'll have to find another quilt book for him to buy! Yippee!

Sherbet

Do these colors remind you of Sherbet? I think they look very Sherbety ( is that a word) I see Lemon, Orange and Raspberry Sherbet. These are old and some new fabrics from my never ending stash. I thought I'd pull a few out and start a new quilt with beautiful colors to remind me that spring is not that far off. It's not that I don't like winter, but the weather is so mild here now I wouldn't be sad if winter is coming to an end.
So now I've added another project to my long list, but I'm just about finished 2 others. Guess that's not too bad for working on the UFO'S!

Table Runner?

I have to confess I haven't done much quilting over the past few days. It looks like I've lost my focus a little. This was to be the beginning of my challenge quilt, but it just didn't look like I imagined. So it has miraculously turned into a table runner. It just needs binding and it's complete. I have a new idea for the challenge quilt. One that will include a lot more color. After all when you're a scrap quilter you can't have enough color!

Moda Nouveau WIP

I started this quilt a while back and it just didn't look quite finished. So I decide to add a border but I didn't have any fabric left since I used a charm pack. So I had to search the internet to find more. Found a layer cake and also found some yardage for binding, so now I'm ready to complete it. This is Moda Nouveau Sentimental Studios fabric. I love these colors ! The pattern is just a simple 4 patch with sashing. Off to the sewing room.........................

I Have a Plan

I have so many UFO's I've decided to have three going at once. I will put one in my frame, one in my hoop and machine quilt one. I'm going to try and keep up this pace for the year to see if I can get them all quilted. I guess the problem with that will be some of my UFO's aren't even at the quilting point and that also doesn't include any quilts that might in the design stage. Not being one of those people who won't start a new project until my others are finished,I guess I'm doomed to always have UFO's!
Actually I'm about to start a new quilt. LOL It's a Log Cabin quilt for a group challenge. I really have to do this one because the Log Cabin is my favorite block. (good excuse, right?)

Almost Done

I'm almost finished packing away the Christmas things. Why does it take so much longer to pack things up than it does to put them out?
This is my collection of Nutcrackers. My DH started it for me years ago with the Red Guy in the middle. He's older than my daughter, who is 17.

This is the last picture of the tree for this year. It's on it's way to be recycled.
Yea! Starting tomorrow I will be able to get back to my sewing room. I here those UFO'S calling me!

New Projects

This is my second project of the new year. It's a small makeup bag, made from scraps, of course!

This is what it will look like when finished! They are fast and easy to make. Instant gratification!

Here is a peek at what the yarn is becoming. I had to buy 2 more skeins of yarn because I needed 8 colors. I like the look so far and the pattern is not difficult. It isn't the easy mindless crochet I usually like, so I can't watch TV and do it, unless there's a rerun on.
After I pack all the Christmas stuff away, I will be machine quilting some of my UFO'S. There are about 10 or more of them!
