Friday Scrapbag

Well I needed a quilt sandwich to practice on with my new machine. So I dug out these blocks I made a few years back and inspired by Gwen Marston's book below.
I sewed them together, pin basted them and started free hand free motion quilting. I've done stippling before, even on the 'Nina but this design as you go stuff isn't easy.
I can see this is going to take a lot more practice!

Have a great weekend! Happy quilting!

Lovely quilt! How do you get the squirly patterns on the quilt, as in the last picture?

Your free motion quilting is looking great! And the quilt block you are practising on looks like a REAL scrappy one!!

Oh, wow! That book has been around for awhile, but isn't it great! I recently made a quilt from that book (the one on the cover, actually) and the same week a colleague at work also made the same quilt. She didn't know I had the book and I didn't know that she had checked it out of the library. If you're interested, you can see my quilt (and my friend's) here: http://wishestrueandkind.blogspot.com/2010/04/just-quilting-along.html
