100 POSTS GIVEAWAY!

A while back I reached 100 posts! Yea! When I first started I didn't think I'd make it to 10. Any way, I hinted then that I would have a giveaway. Then my wonderful husband went on vacation and I honestly forgot about the giveaway.
Ok, so here I am today to announce the giveaway is a Park Avenue charm pack!

I guess you'd like to know what you need to do to win. Well you don't need to do anything special. Just comment on this post. Tell me what fabric line or designer has been your favorite over the past year.

That's it! Just one comment for a chance to win. You don't need to become a follower. (unless of course you want to)
The contest will be open until Wednesday September 8th. I will announce the winner on Thursday September 9th.
GOOD LUCK!

Scraps!

Strips from the scrap bag!

Weekend Sewing

I'm working on a few table runners this weekend. I don't think anyone likes this one much, But, I do. I think it will look great once it's quilted. This table runner was made with leftover strips from a coin quilt I made. The quilt was a baby quilt for the secretary at the school where I volunteer. She loved the quilt and believe it or not I still have green and blue blocks leftover.

T.G.I.F. !

Today is a TGIF! My wonderful husband was on vacation this week. We didn't really have much planned, so you can guess how the week went. Yes, you're right, no sewing!
I did get to go to Lancaster to visit some of my favorite fabric stores. I also found a few "new to me" stores. I found way too many bargains and probably shouldn't go back to Lancaster for a while! I'm hoping to get a little sewing in this weekend. It's not funny, I'm going to try really hard to find the time. You know how it is when your husband is home!
Below is a picture of a few of the pink fabrics I have gathered for a swap I'm in over at Why Not Sew?

Have a great weekend and maybe you can get some sewing done!

T.G.I.F. !

This is not really a Thank Goodness It's Finished. The unfinished version of this is on my desktop. I see it every time I log on. It's really turned out to be my favorite quilt since the circle quilt! I really like everything about this one! Thanks to Nancy for the border suggestion. I think it was the perfect solution. Wow look what can happen with a simple 4 patch.
Here's the tablerunner, finally finished. It was a create as you go project. I had no idea where it would end when I started it. Still not crazy about the quilting, but I do like the color combination.

Lastly, what do you think of the blog update? I was getting kind of tired of the old colors. After 100 posts, it was time for a change!

Wayback Wednesday

Today my Wayback Wednesday is quilt I finished in 2007. It is paper pieced. It was an experiment. I wanted to see what would happen if I reversed the placement of the fabrics in the blocks. Ten of the block centers are done in muslin, the others are all Batik.
By the way I only used two fabrics, but since Batiks can have so many colors it looks as if I used more.

Thank you all of you who placed a vote for my quilt. Although I didn't win, I did enjoy the experience. Thank you again! CHAR

Moda Nouveau and UFO

I've finished another UFO! I call it the "Girly Girl" quilt. I was happy to be working on it because it is pink. I haven't finished a pastel quilt in quite some time. It's got a green polka dot binding. I actually purchased the fabric for the snowball quilt, so I guess I'll be forced to purchase some more. LOL I'm happy to have one more UFO done!
Today I'm finishing up this quilt. I showed it in one of my first posts. It's made from a Moda Nouveau charm pack paired with Moda muslin. I thought it needed a little more color so I had to search the internet to find more fabric. I finally found a layer cake, which has been sitting in the closet for months. So keeping up with the light and airy kind of fabric theme, I guess it's time I finished it.

Saturday Scrapbag

I was searching some of my project bins and I came across these blocks. Along with these blocks. Problem is I can't remember where I was going with this idea. It must have been some sort of garden themed thing. Hmmm

Maybe I can come up with a fresh idea. Maybe two separate quilts. We'll see. Any ideas?
On another note, I think I finally found a quilt pattern for this lovely Swanky charm pack I've had forever. Stay tuned.

Don't forget to vote!
