Wayback Wednesday
The Wayback Wednesday quilt today is not really legit. It is old, but it is not finished. I'm machine quilting this as you're reading. I needed to finish this quilt for a triangle challenge on my Scrap Bags group. As usual even though the majority of the piecing was completed years ago, I waited until the last minute to quilt and bind it. My deadline is tomorrow.
I think the reason it hadn't been finished is because I don't like it. There, I said it! I think it's ugly and the back is uglier still. It's a scrap quilt as quite a few of my quilts are, but it really could have used more brights. Also some larger scale prints. It's awfully dark.
If you look closely you will notice there are many fabrics you've seen here before. There's the yellow print from the dolls dress and the Scottie quilt. There are a few prints from the Oklahoma Backroads quilt and even a few from the quilt in the header. Sad thing is I still have more of some of them. Yikes! Maybe time to donate them.
Jasmine and I have a new friend. Can you guess? It's the Supreme Slider. I really didn't think I needed one until I was machine quilting the blue and gold pineapple quilt. I think it was the fabric I chose for the backing. It was very difficult to move that quilt, and it wasn't the size because it's a small quilt. So I gave in and ordered it. Wow, what I difference I'm sorry I waited so long. If you're on the fence about ordering it, I highly recommend it!
Happy Quilting!

Wayback Wednesday
Yikes!! Today's Wayback Wednesday is my one and only Halloween quilt. It was paper pieced using Sew Precise by EQ. I enjoyed pulling fabrics from my stash for this quilt. I machine quilted Bats in the borders of this quilt. Of course this was before I had a clue what I was doing with machine quilting. So don't look too close! It hung in my daughter's kindergarten class for Halloween and also made appearances at a few Girl Scout functions.
The label is my favorite label ever.

All Grown Up!
This is one of those really happy, but kind of sad posts. You know, bittersweet. I think it's only one of a lot of these events for me this year.
Today my baby is 18 years old.
Just like everyone else I wonder where the time went. Seems like yesterday she started kindergarten and unlike some of the other children who clung to their mothers she couldn't wait to get into that classroom. Another bittersweet day. You may be wondering about the picture. This is Pooky. My daughter and I made him when she was a little thing (before that first day of kindergarten). He's kind of worn and covered with fuzz balls but she's still proud of this creation.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORGAN !!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU !!!!!!!

T.G.I.F. !
I've got a few finishes to show. Well, almost finishes. Here is the table runner I showed a few posts back. I just need to finish sewing the binding down. It's the one that nobody really liked. You know you can tell when you send a picture and the response is, "OK". You can always tell what that means.
Anyway, I had a vision and I'm very happy with the way it came out and even more pleased with the "Organic" quilting lines. This runner was screaming for straight (or sort of straight) lines! It is named Pearl's Tiles, after the only other person who liked it from the beginning.
Thank you Pearl!

Wayback Wednesday
My quilt today is a doll quilt I made sometime in the 90's. My daughter used it for everything and the cats did also, as evidenced by the tears in the upper left corner. Since I do still have some of that fabric I will probably repair it at some point. This quilt is machine appliqued and quilted. I remember having lots of fun making it, as it was the first time I'd tried machine applique. I was amazed at how fast it went together. This pattern can be found in Fast, Fun & Fabulous Quilts.

Not Much Sewing
Not much sewing going on around here this weekend! I sewed these pincushions by hand, they need stuffing. I think I have a bad case of the lazies. Just can't get started. Maybe it's because I have so much I want to do I don't know where to start. It's pretty overwhelming.
I know, I know, it's like eating and Elephant! One bite at a time.

Wayback Wednesday
This is one of the first applique quilts I made. It was made for my daughter, who at the time was 5 years old. It took what seemed like forever to hand applique all those heart blocks. Believe it or not there are still some hearts left from this quilt that never did get appliqued to muslin squares. I had to stop making them at some point or this quilt would not have been finished.
I wasn't able to get a better picture. We have so many trees everything is shaded. While I was taking this picture I noticed that the basting stitches are still in a few of the blocks!
This quilt is named Mommy's Heart.
Don't forget today is the last day to enter the giveaway! (here) I will announce a winner tomorrow!
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Wayback Wednesday
This Wayback Wednesday makes me kind of sad. I'm showing a doll that I made for my daughter quite a few years back. The Doll Making Years. I'd made dolls for numerous people and she didn't have one. So I made this one for her and it was one of the last dolls I made. It makes me sad to show it today because my little girl isn't little anymore. Next week she will start her senior year of high school. I really don't know where the time went. Seems like yesterday she was starting kindergarten! Wow!
