Some of you may remember this little guy from this post last year.
Well with a little TLC he’s a new man this year and he was very happy to join the others! Check out his new look.
Isn’t it amazing what a little love can do?
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We sure did. It is great having my daughter home from school and even though my DH had to go back to work my DD and I are just having lazy days of doing whatever we want. Whatever we want is nothing much.
I did make a cover for my surprise new iPad. I’m not really thrilled with it, but it’s covered for now and that’s what I needed.
Today I’ll do a little sewing room maintenance! My room is a mess after all the sewing and being used as “wrapping central” for Christmas gifts. I’ll need to get organized soon, I have millions of ideas I need to start working on.
I don’t think I’ll be doing much sewing this week. I’m working on a few crochet projects (can’t knit) and I’ve finished a few recently.
Hat made for DD
Cowl made for me
Shawl made for me
Scarf
Shawl in progress
I also plan to make lots of cookies and maybe even some candy!
Do you make candy at Christmas? If you do, what candy is your favorite to make?
I’ve been busy decorating and doing lots of other Christmas things like all of Santa’s elves everyone else.
What I’m working on today is a red and white table runner requested by my sister. She says she hopes to get it by next Christmas! She thinks she’s so funny! She might not have to wait that long.
Almost done, just needs quilting!
The denim quilt was a hit!
I can’t begin to explain how nervous I was cutting into these jeans that couldn’t be replaced. My neighbor wanted me to preserve the designs and the jeans as much as possible. She decided on solid colors instead of prints. She said she was overwhelmed!’
I used flannel as batting and denim for the back. It’s straight line quilted with variegated denim thread from Connecting Threads. I’m sure it will last forever!
Maybe some of you remember this post from March, maybe not. It’s taken me all this time to complete this quilt. I was so terrified of making a mistake it was hard for me to even start.
This quilt was made for my neighbor using a pair of hand decorated jeans that hold a very special meaning for her family. I wanted to use every inch of the jeans and in the end the only thing left over was the waistband and the pocket lining!
I am pleased with the outcome and let me tell you, it’s one HEAVY quilt. Here is a peek. I’ll post the full quilt at a later date as my neighbor won’t receive it until tomorrow.
Well, I survived the bazaar! I think I did pretty well, although I didn’t sell any quilts or table runners. I did sell cosmetic bags, book marks, card holders, mug rugs, dishcloths, pot holders and 2 tote bags! It was a very long day 9-5.
Today after I clean my sewing room, I’m going to get some rest (some people think we’re going shopping). Next week I need to make 22 card holders, 12 mug rugs and 1 table runner.
I was happy to find these beauties in the mail when I got home last night. I purchased them from The Intrepid Thread.
Enjoy your weekend!
I’ve made these
and these
these
and even some of these!
I’m almost done. The bazaar is Friday! Wish me luck!
Spots and Dots! I couldn’t resist! Connecting Threads had these on sale.
More table runners for the bazaar. In progress. I love batiks!
This one is finished. It didn’t photograph well the reds are a little more pinky. The peppermint candy fabric is the backing.
Okay, back to work!
I’m working really hard trying to make things for a Multicultural Bazaar in a few weeks.
Sorry, this isn’t the best picture.
As usual I’m making things difficult for myself. I was supposed to sew this binding to the back so I could machine top stitch it down and save myself some time. Needless to say now I will be hand stitching it.
My DSs and I had a great time visiting our DB and SIL in Florida! We shopped, we ate, we shopped and did some sightseeing. Did I mention we shopped! LOL It was a wonderful time in Ocala!
Here are a few pictures of the Loot!
I found these Denyse Schmidt fabrics at Joann that I could not find here.
And right around the corner from my brother’s house, I found these and
these at a little quilt shop named Tomorrow’s Treasures!
Now I’m home doing the “Happy Dance”!
Love you Catrice and Marcel! I can’t wait to come back!
And thank you so much to my DS’s because without you I wouldn’t have been there!
