First Finish? and Anniversary Giveaway

This is my first finished for 2011! Well almost, I need to finish hand sewing the binding.
I did a little hand embroidery on this one. It's a Valentine table runner which will soon find it's way to the shop. This was made with some of the many fabrics I bought for the Pink swap.

Now for the giveaway! For my 1 year blog anniversary I've chosen 5 fat quarters of Pillow and Maxfield's Pretty Bird fabric.
If you'd like to have this fabric, you have 3 chances to win!
1. Leave a comment telling me what your first finish is or will be for 2011
2. Blog about this giveaway.
3. Become a follower.

Please leave a separate comment for each entry.
Good luck to you all.
This giveaway is open until Jan. 15th.

I'm pretty sure my first finish will be with my double hourglass blocks, but I'm still debating whether I want to bulk it up into a lap quilt or make them into a wall hanging, and if so, whether or not I want it to be one piece or multiple coordinating art pieces. So many options! Happy anniversary!

My first finish: hmm..I just signed up for psiquilt's postage stamp quilt, and she says something about posting finished quilt by Feb 1st! Oh my, I'm not sure I'm that fast, but that's what I'll put on my list as the first finish.

What a cute Valentine's quilt. I love the stitching on it.

Many congratulations on your blog anniversary! I just discovered blogging in 2010 and absolutely love meeting all the quilters out there. Your giveaway is most generous. Thanks!

First finish for 2011 WILL be a baby quilt made from bright, boy colored, polka dots (and Kona solids). This is for the much anticipated arrival of my first great nephew! Happy quilting.

What a lovely finish - I particularly like the embroidery detailing. So, my first finish for 2011 will be my GGG quilt that was supposed to be finished for Christmas (argh!) so I'm not going to count that. I think my first finish will be my son's Boys Will Be Boys quilt - I need to get it on his bed before it gets warm outside.

Congratulations! (on the anniversary AND the first finish!) My first finish of the year had better be the blog post I've been working on for a week ;) Seriously, though, it will be the potholders I promised my Dad for Christmas -- I haven't had a day at home to sew since the holidays started!

Deborah in Atlanta said...

Congratulations! My first finish for 2011 will be a calendar quilt. You know the ones that hang on the wall???? Well, my daughter wants one, but she wanted it lap sized. So I had to enlarge all the blocks and have finished the blocks, but need to add the embellishments (snowman arms, pumpkin stem, etc). My daughter is VERY peculiar and has to approve each step of the process. Her birthday is in March, so hopefully we'll be finished by then. dmj53(at)hotmail(dot)com
