ICE

This is what we woke up to this morning! Lots of ice, on everything! Branches down all over the place. Luckily though, no power outages, so far.

Here's is my poor ice covered Weigelia. It's up against the house just like the Holly bush but somehow the Holly bush looks much better. No ice.

Here are a few of the scrappy things I worked on yesterday. My first selvage creation. A covered mini notebook with a little hand embroidery.

I also dug into the red scrap bin and made these mug rugs for the family room.
Today I'll keep myself busy doing bindings and working on some new things.

Ohh - that ice looks cold - a good excuse to stay inside to do some sewing! So good that the power is still on - there's nothing worse than the power going off when adverse weather is happening.I love your little notebook cover - the addition of the hand stitching is perfect!!

I have enjoyed a day of sewing - between shoveling. Between the 10" yesterday and the almost 10" so far today - I'm tired of winter. I love your selvage notebook cover. And the mug rugs are so much fun. Keep safe and warm.

Cute projects! I hope your power holds out and you can stay in and sew. I'm so ready for Spring and we haven't had it near as bad as you!

Your journal covers are great and a super project for those selvages!
Hope your ice goes away soon. Snow is bad enough, but ice storms create so much damage to plants and people. Stay safe and warm.

I commented this morning but blogger was being difficult and ate my comment.

It sure looks cold at your place. Invitingly cold. After a week of temperatures at 100 F or above , Im craving some cool!

LOVE the notebook cover and the red mug rugs are gorgeous. Red is my favourite colour.
