Binding

Those of you who don’t think I’m crazy already will now. I love binding my quilts. It’s my second favorite part. Quilting being the first. I always make a 2 1/4 inch binding unless I’m binding something small like a potholder, mug rug or table topper, then I use a 1 1/4inch binding.Blog 214 This is the binding for the quilt I spent sooo much time frogging last week. I always put my binding on and empty tube like this one. It’s so much easier when I’m sewing it on, it doesn’t get tangled or caught on all of those things that really shouldn’t be on my table anyway. ( How does that happen?) Blog 215 In spite of the problems with this quilt, it has grown on me. Indecision on my part was the reason for the stitching problems, but I’m satisfied with the quilting now.

Look what I got in the mail. I won a giveaway over on Em’s blog. Do you know Em? If you don’t, you should! She’s the Best!

Love the yellow dot for the binding. I prefer the 2 1/2" binding for quilts and smaller for those little things, too. And I keep an assortment of tubes for wrapping binding - even my left overs are wrapped on T/P tubes - saving for some little project.

What a great idea to wrap your binding onto a roll like that.

I love the look of a load of binding ready to be put on a quilt. All that yellow reminds me of summer.

Great Quilt Char!

What a cute book! I must check her out.

I don't mind making the quilt top or the binding. I can't seem to make myself do the layering ....grin. Any volunteers out there.

Shame on me for not commenting as I do read your blog in the reader; I love the idea of winding them around tubes.
