Happy Memorial Day! From my front lawn to yours!
How neat is it to have the parade come right pass you front door?
Also a very, very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister NATASHA!
I hope you all enjoy your holiday!

I finished these blocks for Margaret’s Hope Chest. I have 2 more to make which are due this summer. If you are not familiar with Margaret’s Hope Chest check it out!
This is Katie by Jennifer Young for Benartex. Don’t know where I’m going with these yet, we’ll see.

Winning BALI POPS in Sharon’s May for Me giveaway Priceless!
I haven’t done a new Wayback Wednesday post in a while, so today I have one that’s a bit different.
I’m feeling a little sad because my baby is a big girl now. I know I usually show a quilt but today in honor of big girl prom dresses and the like I have a picture of a dress I made years ago.
This is the dress I made for my daughter for Christmas 1995. I made many Christmas dresses for her but this is still my favorite. She was 3 years old and looked adorable in this velvet and satin dress and I think she knew it!
Today I’m squealing with delight! I received my quilt from the Something for Nothing mini swap. I absolutely love it! It’s so colorful, just the kind of quilt I like! My quilt was made by Judy from Quilts of Mimi Park. After I take a few more pictures I’m going to hang it in front of my Juki where I can see it everyday. Thank you so much Judy!!!
This is the first quilt swap for me and it was so much fun. Thanks “V “ for organizing the swap!
I am also happy to say I was a winner in the May For Me giveaway on Marcia’s Crafty Sewing blog. I won this beautiful set of photo quilt note cards made by Marcia. Aren’t they beautiful? She sells these and others on her website.
On the quilting front, I used 2 different charm packs of Sweet Remembrance from Connecting threads to make this easy baby quilt for charity. While auditioning fabrics for borders I noticed a “little problem block”. Do you see it? If you don’t, it’s the yellow HST block on the lower right. See it now? Hmmmm, guess I’ll be frogging again!
I haven’t had much time to sew or blog lately. Lots of family things going on now. One major event was held on Friday, the senior Prom. A wonderful time was had by all and my daughter has spent the rest of the weekend recovering.
Now on to the next 2 events, graduation and preparing for college. I keep telling myself I’m going to survive this year.
I did have time to finish this pincushion for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. This months color is pink!
Still not a lot getting completed here. I made potholders on Mother’s Day and tried a new (to me) quilting pattern. It is true that practice helps! I can remember when I couldn’t do a meandering stitch.
Here’s a look at a few of my Mother’s Day gifts.
I’ve been itching to start some appliqué, now all I have to do is choose the fabrics.
I’m back in the sewing room again, not starting anything new, but a few finishes.
My “15 Minute Play” Something for Nothing mini swap quilt is finally done. It will be on it’s way to it’s new home this weekend. I hope my partner enjoys it.
I’ve also quilted my purple table runner from the Rainbow Scrap Challenge for April. Today I will be binding it.
And remember this from Sew Scraps Along? Well it’s been frogged twice! I learned a really valuable lesson with this one. Don’t start quilting until you have a good idea how a piece should be quilted. It sure saves a lot of time, and thread!
