What’s Working on Wednesday

It’s Wednesday again and I have been working on a quilt for the new grand baby of my DHs coworker. I’m using Sugar & Spice, Happier, Olive Rose, Delhi and a few misc. prints.

Here’s what I have so far, don’t know how it will end up.

Also in the works today is this shawl. It’s my second one this month. I can’t show you the first one, it’s a gift for someone who may or may not read my blog. This is a free pattern it’s a CAL (crochet along) in one of my Ravelry groups. I love this pattern.

I’m linking up with Quiltsy again today for WIP Wednesday.

                         Enjoy your Wednesday!

Scrap Happy Saturday

The secret word for today is texture! Can you say texture?

I got the beige PIP quilted this week and now it needs binding.

I didn’t think I’d like this little quilt, but since I’m determined to finish up my PIPs I had to finish it.

                Scrap Thingy's 450

Now I think I love it! Me, the person who loves color. Oh, it must be the texture!

Here she is swinging in the wind!

Take a look at what everyone else did this week.

Garden, PIP, Award

Things are popping up all over the garden.

I will be finishing up this small beige scrap quilt today, I hope.  Think I’ll quilt it with organic line quilting.

I have decided on this group of fabrics and I’ll add a few others for the baby quilt for the coworker of my DH.

Last week I received the Liebster Award from my friend BJ at http://newgirlbj.blogspot.com/

The Liebster is given to blogs that deserve to be recognized, but have less than 200 followers. And, of course, the Award comes with just a few "rules", which are:
1) Post about your win on your blog.
2) Link back to the blogger who presented you with the award.
3) Copy and Paste the award to your blog.
4) Present the award to 5 blogs that have less than 200 followers that you think deserve to be recognized.
5) Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.

These are my nominations, I hope you all will go check out these cool blogs:

Scrap Happy Saturday

I haven’t really been feeling neutral which is the color for this month. With spring bursting out all around us, I want to work with color! But as you already know I have tons of PIPs. So I dug out this little quilt that I started a few years back, before I had a blog. This quilt was started because the white, off white scrap bin was overflowing (like it is now). I had seen the Gees Bend quilts and thought, I think I can do that.

Taxes are Done!

After spending most of my time this week trying to finish the taxes I only had enough energy to finish this scarf for my daughter.

This scarf was made out of fabric we found last summer in a new to me fabric store.  I rediscovered it as I was getting a true count of my PIPs. For those of you who want to know there are 28! I’m not even embarrassed. LOL

She picked this color way, I chose another. I hope to get around to making my scarf soon.

What’s Working on Wednesday

I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already! We had a great Easter as DD was home from school for the weekend. We ate a lot, had some treats and packed her up with food to take back on Sunday evening.

Most of my time lately has been split between the blue quilt from last week, a shawl I’m working on and the dreaded taxes. Yes I’m still at it. Usually I’m done by now, but this year I’m having trouble giving it more than an hour or two a day and it takes that old desktop 45 minutes just to warm up!

This is what I will be working on. It’s still in the planning stage. My DH has a coworker that is expecting a grandbaby.

                   Blog 171

I have decided what I’m going to do with all of the Denyse Schmidt fabric I’ve purchased from Joann. I am going to make this quilt by one of my all time favorite designers. I really like everything she does!

                   Blog 173

It’s by Mabeth Oxenreider and it’s in this special publication from BHG.

I’ve linked up with the Quiltsy blog today. Check out what others are working on.

What’s Working on Wednesday

I’m so happy I actually have something to show today. My legs are much improved. I did a little sewing room cleaning yesterday so I could spend today messing it up again! While looking for fabric and sewing notions to help the DD with her newly acquired interest in sewing I found a blue FQ pack. It has to be more than 10 years old. I bought it before moving into this house and that’s been more than 10 years ago.

Anyway I used the Go Baby I won awhile back and made fast work of these 5 inch squares.

                     Creations 207

I must say I had not been impressed with the Go Baby until yesterday. Maybe because I’m finally getting used to cutting my fabric small enough so there’s no waist. I wanted to make something simple with the squares, so I made a disappearing 9 patch.

                    Creations 209

So today it will get a narrow 1 inch wide maybe red inner border and a second wider blue border.

In other news, remember this PIP?

I think I’ve found the perfect border fabric. I hope!

Scrap Happy Saturday on Sunday

Spent a few minutes finishing this up for the end of “pink” month. Next months color is white. I don’t have a clue what I’ll do. Maybe something will come to me by Friday. I hope so. My DD didn’t much like this layout but I did. Now that I have it hanging lengthwise I see an “S” for Supermom!
