“Wayback” Wednesday

I haven’t done “Wayback” Wednesday in a very very long time. Here’s the last one. Today’s post can also be What’s Working on Wednesday. When I first pieced this I was determined to make a Christmas quilt. Well I’m working on it today so maybe I’ll finish it for this Christmas! LOL

I’m going to search my stash today to find something greenish for a narrow border, say maybe 1 inch and then another 2-3 inch border. I’m sure I can find something, maybe polka dots. Hmm……

Also this WIP may be worked on today. It just needs binding.

What will you be working on today? I’ve linked up with Quiltsy and WIP Wednesday.

Tuesday’s Treasures

I’m really happy to say I’ve finally gotten around to finishing my “Charm Pack and a Bunch of Scraps” quilt top. I’m satisfied with the outcome considering I didn’t know where I was going when I started cutting the fabrics.

Here’s a peek at one of the things I’m working on in the evening. A baby blanket which is a gift new baby due soon in the family.

                 CROCHET 351

I guess I’ll be getting a lot more quilting and crocheting done. Yesterday I killed my iPad and I’ll have to wait until the weekend to get it looked at. What did I do before I got that thing?

Scrap Happy Saturday

            Scrap Thingy's 473

Just like all the others my yellow/orange bin is overflowing! Although September’s color is orange I’m just getting around to playing with my scraps.

I’ve made a few blocks using a paper foundation. As usual I don’t have a real plan. We’ll see where they’d like to go.

I’m still doing lots of crocheting at night. Last night I finished this mobius/cowl. I used a yarn that was new to me Red Heart Boutique Midnight. I enjoyed working with it and since I got it on sale I’m more than happy with the outcome. This will most likely be a gift.

Today being the first day of fall makes me do the happy dance! Go enjoy the first fall weekend! Don’t forget to check out what others are doing for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

PS  I’ve discovered that my new Greyhound machine was manufactured in 1937!

Morgan

Twenty years ago today my beautiful baby girl was born. Who knew you could love someone so much. I always tell her she’s the best thing I ever did, and she is. I love her so very much and I’m so very happy to be her mom!

Another Finish

Today I finished a quilt for Margaret’s Hope Chest. It’s for a little girl as I’m sure you can tell by the colors. I’m glad it’s  finished (on time).

                Special 089

Now that all my deadlines are met I’ll have some time to play with my scraps just sewing random pieces together to see what develops.

Remember this picture from a few weeks back?

Well let me just say if it’s been a while since you’ve had your scissors sharpened or purchased a new pair, treat yourself. I’m sure you have many, many pairs of scissors and shears but if they’re not sharp they’re not cuttin’! Lets just say it’s the best money I’ve spent in a while. Now go, check out you scissors!

What’s Working on Wednesday

Today I’m working to make these 24 blocks into a quilt for Margaret's Hope Chest. As I guess you can tell by the colors it’s for a little girl. I didn’t have to buy any fabric as I think I’ve finally cornered the market on pink fabric! I don’t have much purple though. Is there a color you seem to collect more of? Mine would have to be pink, green and blue. I’d say I could use more of red and purple.

I had a few questions about yesterday’s post on perle cotton. I just wanted to say that I use perle cotton for big stitch quilting like this.

Rain = Progress

We’ve had lots of rain here the past few days but nothing like those who were in the path of Isaac. I’m praying that things get back to normal for everyone real soon.

Since it’s raining and I’m home alone, I’m actually making progress on a few things. A little straight line stitching on the Fandango quilt.

I’ve also finished another crochet project.

This is a really bad picture. When it stops raining I’ll try to get another. This is a shawl that can be worn lots of different ways. It’s a very easy pattern and free, on Ravelry.

I thought you might like to see another little item I picked up on my vacation.

Isn’t this cute? I couldn’t resist it. Especially because it contained my favorite scented soap Egyptian Cotton.

But today it doubles as a take along sewing box.
