What’s Working on Wednesday

Actually I’ve been in a sewing slump, AGAIN! I haven’t stitched one thing since I finished the cosmetic bags. I have done a bit of crocheting though. Another test shawl for MAD CAP Fancies on ravelry.

This one is called Fleurs des Pecher and is part of an E book of 5 patterns.

I did finish this rag rug for my powder room made from scraps of cotton yarn. Most of the yarn is leftover from dish/wash cloths.

I’m really hoping to get a bit of sewing done. It’s the perfect day to be indoors. Cloudy, hot and humid with storms on the way!

I’m linking up with WIPs and Whatnot today, come and join me!

What’s Working on Wednesday

I’ve been spending my weekends enjoying my family. Most of the time I don’t even check my email. During the week I’m trying to spend all my time in the sewing room.

So far I’ve made more of these for the bazaar.

This one with the beaded zipper pull is my favorite so far.

I usually don’t cut my scraps up as I go. Which is probably why I have so much fabric on the shelves. This time knowing that I’d be pulling lots of different fabrics out I thought it would be a good time to cut up some fabrics that have been around quite awhile. These should really come in handy for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

I’ve also cut lots of strings (my favorite)

I haven’t made a garment in years! I used to make everything I wore when I was a teen and young adult. I made lots of clothing for my DD, I even made a few things for DH. Well I’m determined to make myself at least one thing this summer. Here’s the pattern.

Maybe I’ll get it done in time to wear to the bazaar in July! Fingers crossed!

What’s Working on Wednesday

I finished the shawl pattern test I was working on. This is a large shawl measuring 70 1/2 x 25 1/2 inches.

I had to lay it out on a flat surface to line up the edging.

Thankfully everything lined up!

I did get a little sewing in also, I put a stripe binding on the H2H quilt (pictures to come) and I made this little cosmetic bag. I will be making lots of small items as I have a craft bazaar coming up in July.

On Sunday

After waiting for more Spring House to arrive in the mail I’ve finally finished my H2H quilt! I really enjoyed making this quilt. Here are the pictures I took on the front lawn this afternoon.

This quilt is much more green than it appears in the pictures. More like the previous pictures I’ve shown.

I will be sending this quilt off to Em for Happy Chemo.

I’d like to thank Sarah for hosting this challenge and I hope to participate again next year!
