What’s Working on Wednesday a Winner and a Giveaway

What’s working here today is lots of snow and very cold temps! I’ve had time to work on a few things this week. While DH was on vacation last week we took a trip to a new to me fabric store and a yarn store I’ve visited before. I only purchased 3 skeins of yarn! I got 2 skeins of Berroco Comfort which I’ve never used before and I must say I like it. I made another Topsy Turvy cowl.

I also did work on a few Valentine items. This little mug rug.

And since strings are my “thing” I finished this string table runner. I used a meandering stitch with a little heart thrown in here and there.

I did get the backing for the Confetti quilt but now my rotary cutter has died. I was just at Joann last Wednesday it was fine. Just my luck picked it up Monday morning and the spring is gone. I hope to get a new one soon because the little 28mm just won’t work.

This week’s giveaway is going to be something a bit different. I’ve made many, many shawls and shawlettes and since I don’t sell them I have to find something to do with them. So this weeks giveaway is the Wisteria shawl.

      Z SHAWL

To enter the giveaway just tell me where in the world you live and what kind of weather you are experiencing now. This giveaway ends on Tuesday Jan. 28, 2014. The winner will be announced on Wednesday Jan. 29, 2014 (which is my actual birthday) Good luck!

Last week’s winner is Astrid!

I’m linking up with Quiltsy and WIP Wednesday.

Love the cowl. Looks really warm and toasty. As it is snowing here in Helena MT today, Wisteria shawl would remind me of North Carolina and springtime. However, since NC is colder and snowier today than MT, I have to laugh.

Your shawls are just beautiful!! I really like your valentine matt! Here in Maine it is just above freezing during the day and well below zero.

I'm in Eastern Long Island New York, we had 15 inches of puffy snow yesterday. I shoveled off the deck and stairs for my 13 yr old collie (Sandy) 3 times so far and it keeps reappearing. ;-> school is closed my husband stayed home! life is good! Thanks for reminding me I need to do a little Valentine's Day sewing. Love your shawl, beautiful colors. I wish I had your wonderful talent, crocheting and knitting are something I've always envied that my mother and grandmother could do. Thank you so much for the chance, it's a very generous giveaway! A very productive week, I love what you've made, especially the hearts in the quilting.
I'm in England which is surprisingly mild for mid winter and still very rainy, no floods in this part of the country though.

Just wanted to stop by for a visit -- please let others win the giveaway. Gorgeous scarf and shawl. Your stitches are beautiful. I love hearts -- just ironed heart fabric yesterday and hope to play soon. Yippee for strings! Stay warm. To answer your questions -- I'm in Ohio and although we have some snow the worst part is the bitter cold. Retirement is getting closer (3 years now) and I can't wait to move.

This is a beautiful shawl, Char ... just right for keeping neck and shoulders warm in my chilly house :) We have a bit of fresh snow and temperatures hovering around freezing in British Columbia, Canada.

We're having ahead wave here in South Carolina, it might get up to 40. Tonight we'll be in the teens! This is way too cold for this part of the country. I think I'll need that shawl, so thanks for the chance to win.

The Wisteria shawl is lovely! I live in central Alberta, Canada, we had an enormous amount of snow in December and the beginning of January and are now enjoying unseasonably warm weather so it's spring-like here today! Have a Happy Birthday on Wednesday.

What a beautiful shawl! I think we all need one what with how cold this winter has been! I'm in Vestal, NY, and today we had a "warm spell" with a high of 17 degrees, though it is supposed to go back to negative numbers this coming week. Bah! Is it spring yet?
