WELCOME SPRING!!

Now that my driveway is finally cleared of 4" of ice on top of 4" of snow, I can relax and get some sewing done. Before the ugly storm Stella of last week I was able to work on a few things. I actually finished a UFO from a few years ago.

Sorry to say, I don't know how long it's been around. I don't even remember making the flimsy.😵

It's now in my etsy shop along with a few new project bags and bowls.

I did make something for myself for a change. For Christmas my brother gave me a "sister" charm for my bracelet along with a tub of Peaches and Creme cotton yarn. I decided to make myself a market tote and I'm very happy with the results!

I think this bag will gets lots of use. I may or may not have planned another one.😀

Today I'm going to work on another bowl like this one with a flared edge. It was my first attempt and I like how it looks. Today's bowl will be a bit larger.

I'm joining Beth for Monday Making.  Go check out what others are working on.

Snow?

You knew right after I said we hadn't had any snow we'd get snow!
On Thursday we got about 3" of snow. Although according to the weather forecasters we were supposed to get 6-12". My husband finally got to use his new snow blower and he actually liked it.

Since it was a snow day, I decided to spend my whole day in my sewing room. I made a couple of yarn project bags.

I made this one with Burly Beavers from Robert Kaufman.

This one is made with Mini Llamas by Suzy Ultman for Robert Kaufman.

I also worked on a small batik table runner.

I used Bento blocks. It just needs a small maybe 1" border and some quilting.

I'll probably spend the weekend crocheting. I need to finish a test shawl and we won't talk about the WIPs!😬

Making on Monday

It's a sunny day in beautiful Hatfield Pa. We haven't seen a lot of sun lately so I'm happy to have it today. You know we haven't had any snow to speak of either, this has been a strange winter.

Today I'm finishing up another multi color scrap bowl for my Etsy shop. I thought I'd use lots of scraps making these balls and I am, but the scrap pile is not getting any smaller. 😭

While the clips and pins do their work I'm going to focus on this stack of fabrics. They will all become project bags in the near future. Hopefully by the end of the week.

Slow Week

I've been doing lots of this and that this week and I don't see much getting accomplished.  I've put away a few fabric stacks, also a few yarn stacks.
I made one zippered pouch and started another that I had to put on hold because I didn't have the perfect red zipper.
I did find a faux fur pom pom for the hat I just finished.

Lastly I played with a few scraps. These are very small 1" tumblers. As you can see I am the person who thinks no scrap is too small! I am planning to use these in special gift I will be shipping out this week.

Bad Weather Outside = Creativity Inside

It's been stay in and create weather here in Hatfield this week, so that's what I'm doing. I have finished 2 crochet/knitting project bags and have a few more ready to sew today.

I'm planning to work on a few scrappy things soon. Although lots of scraps have been used making bowls and trivets, scraps are never ending here so I have lots more. I've been browsing Amanda Jean Nyberg's book Sunday Morning Quilts for inspiration. I'm certain the first quilt will be an everything goes quilt. After that maybe I'll do a few controlled color scrap quilts. Really it's what ever gets the most scraps used.

My evening crochet project is the Pomelo Shawl. It's a free pattern from Cascade yarns.

I'm using 4 different colors of  Knit Picks Palette to create this shawl. I sure hope it works as I imagine it. LOL

Do you have a resolution to use your scraps this year? Tell me what patterns you plan to use.

I Get A Do Over!

It's a new year and we all get a do over! I really need one. I start every January off saying I'm going to blog more regularly. Ha, never happens! Maybe this will be the year.....
Like lots of you I've gathered my UFO's made a list and plan to finally get them finished. I have 3 to finish this month.

I've already finished one.
It's now in my Etsy shop, so only 2 to go.

Today I'm working on crochet and knitting project bags using a couple of sheep prints paired with a very dark gray cotton.

I still spend my evenings crocheting. Here are a few recent finishes.

And the coiled rope passion has not died! I'm still loving everything coiled rope!
