Scrap Happy

Wow, what a busy week! Starting with the winter storm that wasn't. I was prepared to spend many hours working on WIPs and new projects. Although the storm didn't arrive I still spent my time being a maker.
I made these trivets for my Etsy shop

I realized I only had 4 trivets left so it was time for more.

I also finished a batik coiled rope bowl for my shop.
My evening crochet project was a test for Tearsa Thomas @love4yarnbytearsa. It's a shawl of course. This pattern is available on Ravelry for free. It's called Simple Cozy Triangle Shawl. Mine is made with Knit Picks Chroma twist fingering.

I also worked on a package of goodies for my friend and since she doesn't usually check my blog (I don't think) here they are.

I made the little quilt to use as a topper on her tea cart with 2 matching trivets. I hope she likes them!
My second favorite thing to make are bags, so I made these for the shop.

And I actually did work on a few red scrap thingys.
I finished the heart mug rug

and I started making coin strips which could become a table runner.

Scrappy Saturday

Well today is actually Sunday. I spent yesterday out and about. The husband, daughter and I went to Good's Store and Shady Maple Smorgasbord in East Earl Pa. If you don't know Good's sells fabric! I had fun touching all the cottons! A few even came home with me.

And the food was good too! 😄

This week I did have a few hours to play with the red scraps. I made improve log cabin blacks. The plan is to pair then with alternating low volume blocks and set them on point. I'm planning to make 16 blocks, but I don't think that will put a dent in the scrap bin.

I hope to have the top made by the end of the month, we'll see.

Gloomy Day

Well it's another gloomy day in beautiful Hatfield Pa. Rain, sleet and whatever.
I will spend some of the day organizing containers of Christmas decorations and doing laundry.
I hope to get some sewing in today. Before Christmas I made a pattern for a new bag to put in my Etsy shop and I'd like to get a few of them made today. I finished this bag yesterday (another UFO)

I started a new evening crochet project. It's a shawl and I will probably donate it.

I hope the weather is better where you are, but if it isn't stay in and sew!!

Scrap Happy

This is the first scrap happy Saturday of the year and I'm going to do my best to keep up. In my last post I showed my red scrap bin, which is pretty full. That's strange since it's not one of my favorite colors. The heart mug rug is not quilted yet as I spent most of my time making some new items.

This small coiled rope bowl made with a few red scraps and red thread.

I also made this multi scrap coiled rope bowl.

I'll probably put these in my Etsy shop as I don't have many Valentine's Day items right now.

I spent some time this week sticking to my goal of finishing up my UFOs. The list is very long but I can strike these 2 off.

This year I would like to make another rainbow string quilt and a rainbow crumb quilt. I love string quilts and can't wait to get started.

Happy New Year

Well another year has passed and when people tell you the older you get the faster time moves, believe them!
It doesn't look like I tried any of the new things I wanted to this past year, except I did crochet a garment for myself. This year I'd like to make a cardigan or two.
I've joined the Rainbow Scrap Challenge over at So Scrappy blog this year after being away for a few years. This months color is red and I've already pieced a HST heart mug rug.

Today I plan to make a few string blocks as I've joined the #modastringalong. It gives me the opportunity to finish this ancient UFO 😂
I had a last minute crochet finish. It's the Petal Infinity Scarf. The pattern can be found on Ravelry. It was easy and fun to make. For sure a sit in front of the TV project.

I'm hoping this will be my first UFO finish for 2019. I don't remember this one, but I found it while looking for my string blocks.

I didn't make any real New Year resolutions, but I'd like to work on my UFO's, reduce my scraps and try to actually use my Planner this year. It mostly sat and looked beautiful last year. 😒

Enjoy the week and Happy New Year! Make it a good one
