T.G.I.F. !

Friday again, so soon? I don't seem to be getting much done. I'm trying really hard. I have lots and lots of ideas floating around in the old gray head, but I don't see many results. There is one good thing, I'm putting all of my ideas on paper so at least I'll have a place to start!
Below is the Nouveau table runner. It's almost finished. I'll hand sew the binding this weekend. I'm pretty pleased with the results. (I think it's just cause I like this fabric)

Remember the Pepto quilt? Well, here it is hanging on the door in my sewing room a few days ago.

And here it is today. My wonderful husband ( Vincent) picked the binding for this one. I will hand sew it this weekend also.

Today I worked on potholders most of the day as I watched all the leaves get blown off the trees. Almost all of the trees are bare now except the Oaks, the Hickories and a few of the Maples. I don't mind, I love the changing of seasons.
Enjoy your weekend!
Almost forgot, Honeyman says thank you for the birthday wishes!

Wayback Wednesday

It's Wayback Wednesday, and since today is my wonderful husbands birthday, I thought I'd show you another one of his quilts. I made this quilt for him about 6 years ago for his birthday. This quilt travels with him everyday. It covers the bed in his truck and makes it look a little more like home! He likes this quilt as Blue is his favorite color and it matches the truck.
Here's one more look at Picnic Parade, top to bottom.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEYMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, So Soon?

I've been really busy this week working on all kinds of things. Stuff for my Etsy shop, stuff for Christmas gifts, and stuff just because. This is what's on the design wall now. Yes, you guessed, it's more of that Moda Nouveau fabric. I still have a bit more of it so no doubt you'll see it again. I have some pillows in mind........ Anyway , this table runner will be complete as soon as I choose a back. Here's what else has been going on at my house this week! I really love how the trees look in Autumn.

Another Anniversary!

Today is my 19th wedding anniversary! Since my husband is on the road we will celebrate this weekend. I just want to say I love being married to such a wonderful man! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HONEYMAN!!!!!The Picnic Parade quilt is totally finished. Yea!
We've had rain here on and off and I haven't been able to get a good picture but I thought I'd show it any way. (Shay, these pictures are for you)

I used Moda muslin along with the Picnic Parade and solid brown (don't remember who makes it). On the back I used two strips of Connecting Threads fabric that came in a scrap bag and just happened to match. I really like the Moda muslin I used it in the Nouveau Four Patch quilt also. It's not like your grandmothers muslin and has a great color that's not too white and not like that beige unbleached stuff. It's very soft , but holds up well like any good cotton.
I 'm going to spend the rest of the day working on a new project and crocheting a few dish cloths.
I hope you get to be creative today!
I almost forgot, thank you for the suggestions on the Pepto quilt. I'm still working on it
GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

T.G.I.F. !

TGIF! or drowning in Pepto Bismol!
Well I had an idea while I was lying in bed, so I jumped up and grabbed my sketch book. This is what I came up with but this doesn't look like it did in my mind's eye or in my sketch book!
These are the charm squares I received in the pink charm square swap. It's not really complete but it looked so bad I decided to leave it up on the design wall and sneak up on it in a few days to see if it's grown on me. Yuck!In other news, after the pink thing I thought I cold use a little color! This is inspired by Anna Williams and V's 15 Minutes of Play. I like what I have so far, think I'll keep going with this one.

Here are some goodies I got in the mail today. First more Picnic Parade from Fabric Closet.

Also Breeze and Marrakesh, these came from Fabric Fascination.

I will be finishing the binding on The Picnic Parade quilt this weekend. What are you going to do?

Saturday Scrapbag

I bet most of you have some of these! I have lots and lots since it's so hard for me to throw any of them away. This is one of my favorites. It hangs on my idea board in my sewing room. This is Fungus Freddy draw by my daughter when she was a little thing. Today she is taking the SATs again and working on college applications. Wow time goes by fast!
I finally quilted my scrap challenge quilt. I will hand sew the binding tomorrow while I watch the Phillies and Eagles on TV.
This is a fall table runner I've been working on. It's a half Log Cabin block.

Here's the back. I think I like the back more than the front. This is soon to be in my Etsy shop.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

T.G.I.F. !

I'm so tired I don't know where to start. This is my first attempt at a blog this week. I've been resizing photos for my Etsy shop and doing all kinds of other things Etsy. I'm still not finished. I just had to take a break. Since I really don't have anything prepared, I thought you might like to see the fur kids checking out a pumpkin.

TGIF! Have a good weekend!

Saturday Scrapbag

Remember this fabric from Joann? Before
After!

This little lamp belonged to my daughter. In it's previous life there was purple pom-pom fringe on the shade. Now it's new look is perfect for the top of the family computer desk. Although no one really uses the desk top computer, it still looks nice.
Have a wonderful Fall weekend!

Today Is Not The Day

Today was supposed to be the day I opened my Etsy shop. Well, due to a problem with my email server that won't be happening. So since there's no shop announcement, I thought I'd show you some recent purchases. First these two fabrics are from Connecting Threads. The floral is for an ongoing project and the other will be used as a backing.
These solids are for my stash. You can never have enough solids.

These wonderful solids are from Connecting threads new solid fabric line. They will be paired with the Moda Swanky pinwheels.

Here we have Joel Dewberry, Katie Jump Rope, Valori Wells and more Picnic Parade for backing and binding the Picnic Parade quilt. All of these were purchased from Whittle's Fabrics. (Thanks Shay)

I'd like to wish a very Happy Birthday to my baby sister!
I love you!
