What’s Working on Wednesday

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday. I watched our small towns 65th Memorial Day parade. If you’ve been following me awhile you know that the parade comes right past my house as the VFW is right up the road. It was fun to see my friends and neighbors who participate in the parade every year.

I did get a little sewing in on Monday. I pieced this small table topper from a charm pack of Spirographix which I’ve had forever.

Yesterday I pieced this quilt top from most of the scraps from the last baby quilt I finished. I used dots ( my favorite) a bandana paisley print and the Riley Blake Sugar and Spice scraps.

I hope to get some quilting done today as things are starting to pile up. I also hope to catch up on all of the great new blog posts I’ve been missing. It’s been weeks since I actually sat down and read all of the blogs I follow. I’ll be checking in this week!

This and That

Look what I found at the $ store! I know what you’re thinking, yeah so what.

Remember a while back I was asking about solutions to keeping bobbins separated? Well Ta Da!

                    Blog 184

Each compartment will hold 4 bobbins! Now all I have to do is make labels.

At the multi home yard sale last weekend I picked up a few handmade items.

I bought 6 pieces. I spent a total of $.50  It’s kind of sad when you think about all of that handwork going for less than $1.00!

                       Enjoy your holiday weekend!

What’s Working on Wednesday

Wow it’s been a long time between posts. I don’t have a specific reason for the absence, actually I’ve only completed one thing. Mostly I’ve started off with good intentions which haven’t amounted to much. I did get this special order finished for an Etsy customer.

It’s made with the Canning Day fabric from Connecting Threads. It’s a small wall hanging, just 36 x 24.

I hope to cut into this great fabric I picked up recently. It’s Cosmos by Dan Bennett. It’s really different and I think it will add lots of movement to my project.

What’s Working on Wednesday

What’s working today is strings! I’ve been having a look back at some of my previous string quilts and blocks. For a scrap quilter like me strings are the best. After spending time making the baby quilt and the blue and white quilt, I’m in need of lots of color.

Trying to get Started

It’s another one of those gray gloomy days here in Hatfield. I have so much trouble getting started when it’s like this but I’m going to try my best to get something done today.

Recently luck has found me, again! I won a giveaway at My Patchwork Life. Fabric! I love it!

Thank you Erin!

I also won a giveaway held by Sarah at Fabric Seeds. It’s a Tend the Earth by Deb Strain layer cake. She has lots of lovely fabrics. Check it out!

Thank you Sarah!

Thanks for the suggestions on dealing with my 2 lovers! I’m going to try to quilt in the day time and crochet in the evenings. Good thing I’ve given up cross stitch for now! I’m finishing up this lacey shawl this evening.

A Little Progress

Finished the borders on the baby quilt and I like the quilt much better now. I wasn’t really thrilled with it at the start. I was able to get a half decent picture today because the sun has finally made an appearance. We’ve had a whole week of weather that was more suited for Seattle WA. than Hatfield PA.

I’m hoping to get this quilted on Sunday. We’ll see, I don’t know if it’s spring fever or what but I’m not getting much sewing done lately.

Have fun! Enjoy your weekend!

What’s Working on Wednesday

Not much is working here. I’m “torn between two lovers”! The first one being this

and the second one is this

Do you have a problem like mine? How do you get things completed?

I have made a little progress with the baby quilt. My next step is to add a 2.5 inch white border and a second border of piano keys.
