Friday Flowers, Fabric and Fun!
Good morning it’s 54 degrees in Hatfield Pa. this morning. Look what I found in what’s left of the garden today.
This one even has a little friend. If you look real close you can see it on the top right petal.
While this is going on in the garden, these are happing in the sewing room.
Enjoy your weekend!

What’s Working on Wednesday
Today I finished up the last of the items for my craft shows this year. There’s one show tomorrow and another on Dec. 7th.
Here are a few of the card holders I made. I also made the usual small items like cosmetic bags, coin purses and lavender sachets. I am happy I can work on some “wants” instead of “needs” now.
While rearranging some fabric piles again in the sewing room I decided I’d pack up most of the muslin I have from when I first started quilting cause I really need the space for quilt backs. I was surprised to find this little piece my DD created years ago in scouts. It’s now destined to become a wall hanging.
I can’t wait to get back to my scraps. Scrap quilts are my first love. So imagine how happy I was to win Kelly’s giveaway. She blogs at Pinkadot Quilts and was giving away scraps. Look what I received in the mail!
A big box overflowing with wonderful pink scraps!! Thank you Kelly! I can’t wait to dive into this box. I have lots of ideas!

What’s Working on Wednesday
Don’t tell anyone but I’m supposed to be working on craft bazaar items. Needed a little distraction so I thought I’d pull some fabrics for this quilt.
I’ve got two stacks here,
but I’ve been thinking I might use these fabrics that where gifted to me. These are the ones I’d like to use but using them would mean I’d need to purchase more fabric. I’m seriously trying not to do that!
In other news it was a good weekend for me. I got new shoes! ( really needed them)
And DH got me a new handmade shopping tote!
One year ago today it looked like this at my house.
Remembering those who lost much more than we did to hurricane Sandy.

On Sunday
I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything, but I’m really going to try to blog a bit more regularly. I mean at least once a week!
Last Saturday’s craft fair was great! For the first time ever I sold mostly table runners. I only sold a few small items like cosmetic bags and coin purses. I have two more shows next month. Lets hope the table runner thing is a trend!
Of course I made a few purchases. I have two yarn bowls that I love but I couldn’t resist buying this bowl from the vender across from me at the show.
And I just had to purchase this hand embroidery from the 30’s.
I have a new project I’ve been working on in the evenings. It’s EPP. This will be some thing small, maybe a cover for Georgie Girl.
I’m still finding time to get a little hooking in. I’m working on this shawl/scarf.
And last but most certainly not least, I’d like to wish my wonderful DH a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

On Sunday
It’s been a very long time between blog posts. I’ve had all kinds of things happening here. First I was sick for 3 weeks right after taking DD back to school, next up was a 21st birthday party for DD and 2 of her friends and now I’m in the process of working on bazaar items again. Let’s just say this was a very full September.
Today I’m here to share Confetti. I had the pleasure of testing this wonderful pattern as one of the Supremes for Stephanie of Loft Creations. It’s an easy pattern with great results.
I had so much fun choosing scraps for this quilt from my solids scrap bin. I really love the way it turned out and after the bazaar sewing is done this is first on the quilting list!
You can purchase Confetti HERE and HERE. I’m sure you will enjoy it!

What’s Working on Wednesday
I worked on one of the many, many UFOs I uncovered on Monday. Good thing for me I remembered what the plan was for this cause it was so simple. LOL
I hope to have this one finished by the end of the week. I’m a bit under the weather today so I might have to push the quilting back a few days.
I received some squishy mail this week. First I got these beautiful 1/2 yard cuts of Briar Rose.
I also got 2 fat eighth bundles of Art Gallery fabric, aren’t they pretty?
I’m having a small giveaway over on the Quiltsy blog this week!
Go check it out! http://teamquiltsy.blogspot.com/2013/09/wips.html

Mumbling on Monday
While doing that cleaning up I mentioned in the previous post I came across lots of WIPs as you can imagine. Most of them are pretty easy to complete. Like this red, white and blue quilt which needs to be layered and quilted.
And this one, which is obviously ancient (you can tell by the colors).
Then there are the blocks. Like these polka dot snowballs, no problem I remember everything about this planned quilt.
Ok, now we have this nicely packaged group of strips and squares of Verona from Riley Blake.
I can remember cutting these squares and strips but I have no clue where I was going with this!
Does this ever happen to you? If it does, what do you do?
I am having a small giveaway on the Quiltsy blog on Wednesday. Be sure to check it out!

Last Day of August!
I’m so ready for the change of seasons! I’m hoping it ushers in a change in lots of other areas. I’m determined to PURGE and organize every single room in this house! We don’t plan to stay in this big house that much longer, so if I don’t start soon it won’t be manageable. I’m also determined to get my butt in gear and start walking again, regularly! Additionally I’d like to be able to put items in my Etsy shop on a more regular basis. So come on Autumn, I’m looking for a change!
A few weeks ago I showed some of the large pile of Leaders and Enders that had been cluttering my sewing table. Well yesterday I had an urge to play with scraps.
Today I’m hoping to frame this in some way. Maybe on point or just 4 border strips. We’ll see. I just love scraps, all this color makes me very happy!
I decided to work on a very easy scarf in the evenings and while I watch baseball on TV. The name of this pattern is Mindless One Skein Scarf! Couldn’t be more perfect. I got this beautiful yarn from someone’s destash.
I’m wishing you all a very happy Labor Day!

What’s Working on Wednesday
Hello, hello I’m still here! I’ve been a bit busy lately. First off we went here
and watched these
steal someone’s lunch and take off down the beach!
I found a few treasures. This one was formed by nature and put to good use.
On Monday we took DD back to Arcadia University. She is now a junior! I will be enjoying spending the rest of this week with DH who is still on vacation. I hope to get some fabrics pulled as I have a few craft shows coming up soon and must get organized!

What’s Working on Wednesday
Not much is going on here. I’ve made a few blocks from leaders and enders that I hope will become a scrap quilt. I’ll be placing them on point.
I’ve started a new scarf that will be one of the items I hope to sell at the next craft bazaar.
Eek and look what came in the mail today! My DD needed a new cover so I thought I should treat myself to one also.
Don’t you just love the dots? I’m linking up with Quiltsy today. Come over and join me!

What’s Working on Wednesday
Well let’s see, I did get my cutting table cleared off.
BEFORE
AFTER
It doesn’t quite look like that now. LOL If it was still neat that would mean I haven’t been using it right?
I pulled this scrap string thingy out and added the lime border because I now have a plan for it. Next up will be a larger scrap border.
I’ve finally taken the time to learn the Tunisian crochet stitch. Don’t know why I avoided it for so long. It really wasn’t difficult at all. Here’s my first swatch.
Not bad for my first try. Now I need to go buy a Tunisian hook so my stitches don’t fall off!
I gotten a few goodies in the mail lately. First up these charm packs. The 2 1/2 inch squares will be used to make table runners.
I also got some yummy new yarn!
And finally I got something that I’ve been wanting for what seems like forever. I know they’ve been around for a while but I just couldn’t find the right one, until now.
It’s a felted wool pincushion! This picture isn’t the greatest. It doesn’t show the beautiful blue color in the center. I’m very happy I found this one!
I’m linking up with The Quiltsy blog this week. Come on over, you can link up too!
