I’ve finished the shawlette and it’s blocking at this very moment. I really enjoyed making this one for the second time and I love the yarn my DD chose.
Here she is on the blocking mats
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that I love log cabin blocks. It’s been my favorite block since I started quilting back in 1994. I’ve made a few log cabin quilts and some of the variations.
Well while I was cyber shopping for holiday gifts I found some log cabin tops. Yes I know I was supposed to be buying gifts but you know how it goes, two for them, one for you. Lol This is the first time I’ve purchased a quilt top. I love the setting and the fabrics. When the holidays are over I plan to finish this top. So I guess I’ve already added a WIP to start off 2013!
Do you have a favorite block? If so what is it?
I’ve linked up with Quiltsy and WIP Wednesday.
Don’t forget the giveaway!

The shawlette is beautiful!! Gorgeous colour and the wool sounds lovely. I love your log cabin quilts too, and the 'new' one will be a great addition to your collection (he he a new wip for the new year!!). I'm not sure what my favourite block is - I love lots of them!! Good on you offering to quilt one of the Sandy quilts.
What a beautiful shawllette! And you found a really fun quilt top. I initially absolutely hated log cabin blocks. Then I learned an easier way to do them, and I do them all the time. I especially love them for improv piecing.
Lovely projects! Can't wait to get back to mine once the holidays are over. I think my favorite block is the Rolling Stone block or any of its variations.
