Ok here is the quilt I made for my sister's grandson that I mentioned in a previous post. This quilt has been named "The Prideful Quilt" which is probably not a good name (proverbs 16:18)
Here's the story. I knew my sister had a grand baby due around Christmas, but I thought it would be born after Christmas. So you know the baby was born before Christmas and the only thing I had for a gift was a receiving blanket I'd made from yellow flannel and trimmed in the brown Owl print you see in this quilt. Well some of the mother's family and friends didn't believe I'd made the blanket, even though I'd made a quilt for the baby's sister. Has that ever happened to you? Maybe it was because it didn't have a label, but I don't usually put labels on receiving blankets. So of course to prove I made the blanket I used the same Owl fabric along with other fabrics in my stash to make this quilt.
Do you remember this fabric from a previous post last Feb?

Beautiful work there Char. You have been a busy bee!
Love a rail fence for a baby quilt. The strip border on your 'web' quilt is a statement - I like it - with a red binding, will really frame this one with a POP.
I like the strip border! looks great :)
I REALLY like the stripe border. Nice job!!
The things we do to keep our families happy!! lucky wee chap to receive two homemade gifts from you!! I also like the stripey border... the colours are just perfect and it gives a little more movement - or something- !! I will be interested to see what you end up deciding to do.
Yep-Im another vote for the stripe border. I think it looks terrific!
I'm loving the baby quilt. I think its name "The Prideful Quilt" is absolutely perfect. You did an amazing job with the baby quilt. I'm sure your sister and her grandson will really like it. Keep up the good work! :)
Keep the stripe!
oohh, love everything in this post!
such great work!
That is such a lovely baby quilt! great fabric choices. What did they mean "they didn't believe" that you made the blanket??? Come on now. I might use a solid color for the border, I think
wait a minute...someone didn't believe you'd made the blanket?? I'm glad you were able to prove it!!! ;)
Love the colors in the "string" blocks and the striped border is perfect.
