The Blues

When I first started with the blue scrap pile I thought I only had the two pretzel containers. Ha! This week I realized I had another bin full! So it looks as though to make a dent I will need to complete a few items and not just work on blocks.

I've decided to skip the four patch blocks since 2 1/2" squares won't even come close to making a dent in this pile. I've come up with another idea.

I used 5 1/2" strip blocks and paired them with low volume 2 1/2" borders. We'll see where this leads me. I also made 2 more half square triangle blocks.

So this is what the design wall looks like now.

I did do a little crocheting this week and finished another hat for donation.

I also finished reading Nash Falls by David Baldacci. First finish of the year. In this book he introduces a new character, Walter Nash who goes from a nerdy businessman to a superhero. 😉

It’s snowing here today. I sure hope you’re having a great weekend. I’m linking up with So Scrappy for  RSC 2026.

Look at you with those blues! I'm glad you found so many. That's a print color in very short supply in my sewing room. Also in limited supply are reds and purples. Guess that's why I don't participate in RSC... I'd have to go fabric-shopping! :-) I like what you're doing with the blues. The low volume, high contrast sashing will make those blues pop. Also love the cap. So nice! Did you knit it? Do you have a pom-pom maker? It will be such a nice donation. You're keeping busy!

Fun blocks, cute hat. I just put "Nash Falls" on my To Read list. Thanks for the recommendation! Baldacci is a favorite author. Happy sewing!
